Rice puttu - 3 cakes
Beef -3 Lbs
Onions - 2 ,sliced
Ginger-garlic chopped - 2 TBsp each
Chili powder - 2 TBsp
Corrander powder - 3 TBsp
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 TBsp
Lemon juice - 4 TBsp
Coriander leaves - 1 handful
Mint leaves
Oil for cooking
Ghee for cooking
Salt for taste
Fried onions from 2 onions
Cashew and raisins fried in ghee
Grated coconut fried into golden brown in ghee - 1 cup
PREPARATION
Beef masala
Marinate the beef with all the spice powders,lemon juice and salt.Let it rest for atleast 1 hr.
Heat the oil in a pan and add ginger,garlic.Saute them well and add onions and cook them well.
Then add the marinated beef and mix it well with ginger,garlic and onions.Close the pan and cook in slow fire until the beef is done.
If there is lot of excess water after the beef is done then open the pan and cook.But there should be some gravy.
Now take the puttu cakes and crush them with your hands.
Take a heavy bottom pan and heat ghee in it
Saute the puttu well and add coriander& mint leaves.
Also add coconut(fried in ghee) into it .
Remove them from fire.
Now arrange the puttu and beef masala in layers in the same pan.Also add cashew n raisins in between the layers.
Top it with fried onions.
Close the pan and keep it in low fire for 10-15 mins.
Serve it hot with pappadam..and a sulaimani.
