PAVAKKA THEEYAL/Bitter gourd theeya
Ingredients:
Bitter gourd or pavakka - 1 big
small onion - 5 or 6
green chilli- 2
ginger-1 desert spoon
garlic-1 desert spoon
tamarind - a small lemon size(soak in water and extract the pulp)
coconut grated - 1 cup
fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
corainder powder - 2 tsp
pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
oil - as required
salt - to taste
mustards seeds - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 1 sprig

Method
Roast coconut with chilli corrander ,pepper, turmeric powders and fenugreek seeds.Grind it without water and later add water and make into paste.Heat oil(coconut oil) splutter mustards add ginger,garlic,small onions and green chilles.Saute it well.Then add the bitter gourd and salt,cook it well without water on low flame. When they're done well add tamarind along with water and mix it well on the bitter guards.Then add the ground paste.Mix and join the paste and bitter gourds.Keep it on fire for few mins.Add curry leaves before serving..
