POTATO GNOCCHI {Italian}
Potato -3 nos
All purpose flour - 1 cupEgg -1
Salt- 1/2 tsp
Pesto - one cup (i used flavoured meat)
Preparation
Boil the potatoes,Let cool on a rack, cutting them open to help cool and let more moisture escape.Remove the skin and grate it well.To the grated potatato add the flour, egg and a pinch of salt. Mix by hand until you have a nice pliable ball of dough. Do not over mix.
Prepare a work area and dust it with flour. Take the dough, make one small ball from it and roll it out gently with your hands into a tube shape. It is very important to keep a light touch while you are rolling the dough. Gently roll the dough with your fingertips.Do the same with 4-6 balls.And make it as shown in the picture.
Cut the tubes of dough into pieces about one inch long.
Press each gnocchi on a fork and simply roll it to make the classic
shaped gnocchi.
Boil 5 cups of water and transfer the gnocchi into it.Cook gnocchi, stirring gently, until tender, about 1 minute after they rise to surface.Transfer to skillet.. Now you can add your pesto over the gnocchi.....Yes,the tasty potato gnocchi is ready to eat.........
