KAPPA MEZHUKKUPERATTI




I had some leftover cooked tapioca..This side dish turned out to be tasty..just sharing the recipe...


Ingredients

Kappa/Tapioka/yucca root - small pieces,cooked - 2 cups
Onion- sliced- 1 small
Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves- few
Garlic -sliced- 2 small cloves
Spice mix- chilly powder (1TBsp),Corriander powder (1/2 TBsp)
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil

Method

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds,and let it splutter.
Add curry leaves,garlic,saute for few seconds.
Add sliced onion,sprinkle salt to taste.
Once onion is done add the spice mix and fold it well into the onions..Now add
cooked kappa/tapioca,mix it well so that the onions and spices are evenly coated on them..
Cover and cook on a medium low flame for 2-3 mins,stirring once or twice in between.
Sprinkle garam masala for a final touch.
Serve with rice.
