FISH IN MANGO GRAVY
Ingredients:
Choice of any fish - 2 lb
2 pieces of Fish Tamarind /Coccum/ Kudampuli
2 pieces of Fish Tamarind /Coccum/ Kudampuli
1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
1/2 tsp garlic crushed
6-8 Crushed shallots
1 Half ripe mango
For grinding
2 Fresh grated coconut.
2 small green chillies
2 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
few curry leaves
For Tempering:
2 Tbsp coconut oil
2-4 shallots, sliced
a handful of curry leaves
sliced green chillies
METHOD
Grind well the ingredients
Place all the ingredients in a meen chatti or cooking pan except fish & ingredients for tempering.
Add 1 1/2 -2 cups of water and boil it.
Now add the fish pieces,cover and cook until the fish is cooked well.
Heat the coconut oil in a small pan.
Add shallots, curry leaves and green chillies(if using). Fry the shallots till golden brown.
Add over the curry. Do not stir. Keep the pot covered and allow the curry to rest. (10 – 20 minutes at least)
Serve hot with rice! Enjoy....
